Rowland so very badly wants our village-owned
P.O.
building destroyed in order to expand her corporation's
parking lot that she finally decided to make an offer our Village Trustees foolishly felt they could not refuse. She convinced Wells College to offer some lovely but useless lakefront in exchange for our village-owned Post Office building.
In exchange for the offer of this truly undevelopable land, the Village Board voted on 12/29/05 to
demolish our P.O. for her parking lot under a "Memorandum of Understanding" if the USPS agrees and hoping that someday this land could somehow be turned into a lakefront park.

Although in March 2006 she claimed she was pulling out, Rowland does not intend to leave our village alone. Her lawyer dictated a timeline to our exceedingly compliant Planning Board, and enforced Rowland's latest ultimatum by meeting her March 31 deadline to approve yet another massive demolition and construction project in our village center, once again without full and proper review.
